Nursery Necessities meets The Royal Blog Tour

Hi, my name is Pam Staples.

I'm so excited to be a PRINCESS on the Royal Blog Tour and sharing this wonderful opportunity with you as you visit my CASTLE.  There are so many great ideas and it is so fun being a Princess! I really want to say welcome and thank you for visiting my blog, SunnyGirlScraps.   I hope you "royally" enjoy the projects I've prepared for your visit.

You'll find that I've chosen to highlight the Nursery Necessities Stamp Set (Item # 113506).  I really do love how SWEET this set is especially for all things baby related.  As a new mom, I couldn't help but choose to highlight this set.  My husband and I are in the process of adopting a baby boy.  Caleb really is a joy and such a blessing.  He was born on September 21, 2009 and we brought him home from the hospital on September 23rd.  Another reason I'm highlighting this set is that it seems that I'm surrounded by pregnant friends and babies.  Earlier this week I had 2 friends announce their pregnancies on the same day!  That means I have LOTS of baby gifts and cards that will need to be created over the next 8 months.  So, on that note...

I hope you enjoy viewing the projects that I've created.  If you have any questions, don't hesitate to email me at sunnygirlscraps@gmail.com

Sweet Little Baby Boy & Girl Cards:

These two cards are so sweet.  I really enjoyed creating a vintage, Shabby Chic, look.  Of course, each card uses the Star and Elephant from the Nursery Necessities stamp set along with a sentiment from the set.  One of my favorite features of these two cards is the way I dry embossed the background using the Big Shot and Textured Impressions Folder Perfect Polka Dots (the Texturz Plates Stampin' Up! Backrounds 1 Item # 11451 also works) then tore the paper along one edge at an angle creating a great feature to showcase the stamped sentiment.  To age the paper I took my Close to Cocoa and a sponge which I brushed along the edge and over the embossed impressions.  To distress the paper, I used the Cutter Kit which includes a distressing tool.

Mini Milk Carton Baby Girl Shower Favors:

The Mini Milk Carton's are so sweet and absolutely perfect for a Baby Shower Favor.  Over the past few weeks, I've had numerous friends announce their pregnancies and several have announced that they are having baby girls.  I thought it would be nice to have at least one "girl" themed item considering I am a Princess on The Royal Blog Tour.  Here is my Mini Milk Carton Baby Girl Shower favors:

 Simply Adorned Baby Boy Charm:

I just recently purchased my first Simply Adorned charm and I've been trying to decide what I would create for the insert.  This past Saturday, April 24th, we received the Court Decree stating that our sons adoption was finalized on April 22, 2010!  My husband and I were so excited.  With our sons adoption final, the lights went on and I just knew I wanted to create a special charm honoring the finalization of the adoption along with including an insert of our sons adoption.  Here is the the insert to my Simply Adorned charm:

Baby Boy BLOCKS meet Decor Elements:

I've had the Decor Element Blocks sitting around since the Holiday Mini with the intention of decorating them with a holiday theme but when I signed up to be a Princess, I decided they would make a great project for a baby room.  I really did enjoy making these blocks!  My favorite element is using the On Board Essentials (Item # 112085) to create a frame for a baby picture.  Of course, I had to go with a boy theme since these blocks will be going into my sons bedroom.

BLOG CANDY!

Yes, I have blog candy!  So, you ask, "how do I enter the drawing for some blog candy?"  The answer:

To be entered into the drawing to win a beautiful, handcrafted journal along with a matching book marker and pen, you need to do one of two things.  You can become a fan of SunnyGirlScraps on facebook and post a message (you'll find the link to my SunnyGirlScraps Facebook Page on the right - remember to left click and open facebook in another window so you don't loose your place on the blog tour). The other option is to leave a comment on this post and don't forget to include your Email address so I can contact you if you win.  Now, if you leave a comment on this post AND become a FAN of SunnyGirlScraps on Facebook, you'll receive TWO entries into my drawing for the handcrafted journal!  How cool is that...

Again, THANK YOU for visiting my CASTLE and I hope you've enjoyed my creations!  May the remainder of The Royal Blog Tour be just as enjoyable as you visit all of the wonderful Royalty on this majestic tour!
