Nursery Necessities meets The Royal Blog Tour

Hi, my name is Pam Staples.

I'm so excited to be a PRINCESS on the Royal Blog Tour and sharing this wonderful opportunity with you as you visit my CASTLE.  There are so many great ideas and it is so fun being a Princess! I really want to say welcome and thank you for visiting my blog, SunnyGirlScraps.   I hope you "royally" enjoy the projects I've prepared for your visit.

You'll find that I've chosen to highlight the Nursery Necessities Stamp Set (Item # 113506).  I really do love how SWEET this set is especially for all things baby related.  As a new mom, I couldn't help but choose to highlight this set.  My husband and I are in the process of adopting a baby boy.  Caleb really is a joy and such a blessing.  He was born on September 21, 2009 and we brought him home from the hospital on September 23rd.  Another reason I'm highlighting this set is that it seems that I'm surrounded by pregnant friends and babies.  Earlier this week I had 2 friends announce their pregnancies on the same day!  That means I have LOTS of baby gifts and cards that will need to be created over the next 8 months.  So, on that note...

I hope you enjoy viewing the projects that I've created.  If you have any questions, don't hesitate to email me at sunnygirlscraps@gmail.com

Sweet Little Baby Boy & Girl Cards:

These two cards are so sweet.  I really enjoyed creating a vintage, Shabby Chic, look.  Of course, each card uses the Star and Elephant from the Nursery Necessities stamp set along with a sentiment from the set.  One of my favorite features of these two cards is the way I dry embossed the background using the Big Shot and Textured Impressions Folder Perfect Polka Dots (the Texturz Plates Stampin' Up! Backrounds 1 Item # 11451 also works) then tore the paper along one edge at an angle creating a great feature to showcase the stamped sentiment.  To age the paper I took my Close to Cocoa and a sponge which I brushed along the edge and over the embossed impressions.  To distress the paper, I used the Cutter Kit which includes a distressing tool.

Mini Milk Carton Baby Girl Shower Favors:

The Mini Milk Carton's are so sweet and absolutely perfect for a Baby Shower Favor.  Over the past few weeks, I've had numerous friends announce their pregnancies and several have announced that they are having baby girls.  I thought it would be nice to have at least one "girl" themed item considering I am a Princess on The Royal Blog Tour.  Here is my Mini Milk Carton Baby Girl Shower favors:

 Simply Adorned Baby Boy Charm:

I just recently purchased my first Simply Adorned charm and I've been trying to decide what I would create for the insert.  This past Saturday, April 24th, we received the Court Decree stating that our sons adoption was finalized on April 22, 2010!  My husband and I were so excited.  With our sons adoption final, the lights went on and I just knew I wanted to create a special charm honoring the finalization of the adoption along with including an insert of our sons adoption.  Here is the the insert to my Simply Adorned charm:

Baby Boy BLOCKS meet Decor Elements:

I've had the Decor Element Blocks sitting around since the Holiday Mini with the intention of decorating them with a holiday theme but when I signed up to be a Princess, I decided they would make a great project for a baby room.  I really did enjoy making these blocks!  My favorite element is using the On Board Essentials (Item # 112085) to create a frame for a baby picture.  Of course, I had to go with a boy theme since these blocks will be going into my sons bedroom.

BLOG CANDY!

Yes, I have blog candy!  So, you ask, "how do I enter the drawing for some blog candy?"  The answer:

To be entered into the drawing to win a beautiful, handcrafted journal along with a matching book marker and pen, you need to do one of two things.  You can become a fan of SunnyGirlScraps on facebook and post a message (you'll find the link to my SunnyGirlScraps Facebook Page on the right - remember to left click and open facebook in another window so you don't loose your place on the blog tour). The other option is to leave a comment on this post and don't forget to include your Email address so I can contact you if you win.  Now, if you leave a comment on this post AND become a FAN of SunnyGirlScraps on Facebook, you'll receive TWO entries into my drawing for the handcrafted journal!  How cool is that...

Again, THANK YOU for visiting my CASTLE and I hope you've enjoyed my creations!  May the remainder of The Royal Blog Tour be just as enjoyable as you visit all of the wonderful Royalty on this majestic tour!

Southern Women's Expo - Raleigh, NC!

Yesterday, SunnyGirlScraps attended the Southern Women's Expo in Raleigh, NC as a vendor!  I thoroughly enjoyed meeting many wonderful women and sharing my love for Stampin' Up!  As women would stop by to visit, we would invite them to enter into a drawing for a years worth of Handmade Cards along with making a really cute, simple 3x3 birthday note card.

The note card used the Jumbo Stampin' Around Wheel with the NEW Build-A-Wheel stamp sets.  Then we had to add some bling with glitter.  I have to say that the cards were absolutely adorable, simple and FUN to make!  I'm looking forward to showing my niece's how to use the wheel to make adorable cards.

Of course, I came home with lots of glitter on me.  It was on my face, in my hair and stuck to my clothes.  SO MUCH Fun!

Happy Stampin' and Scrappin!

Pam Staples

A Fond Farewell!

A Fond Farewell

Yesterday, Stampin' Up! announced a Color Renovation.  You may ask... What is a Color Renovation?  Well, in this case, it means that 31 colors will be retired, some in-colors will return as core colors and the current color families will be revamped into four color collections with Stampin' Up! ditching the term "color families."

Now, don't get into a panic yet...  These changes do not go into effect until July 1, 2010 with the release of the new 2010-2011 Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog.  We all enjoy renovating our homes by updating the look using color along with new accessories.  This change isn't all that different.  There will fun, new colors and I'm certain we will see some new accessories that we will all enjoy.  All of us will sadly say a fond farewell to some of our favorites but with this change I'm certain we will have some new favorites.

EFFECTIVE, JULY 1, 2010, WE WILL SAY A FOND FAREWELL TO THE FOLLOWING RETIRING STAMPIN' UP! COLORS:

Check it out...   (OK... I admit, I'm a closet fan of Pixie Pink and Summer Sun!)

Almost Amethyst, Apricot Appeal, Ballet Blue, Barely Banana, Blush Blossom, Bordering Blue, Brilliant Blue, Brocade Blue, Cameo Coral, Close to Cocoa, Creamy Caramel, Gable Green, Glorious Green, Going Gray, Green Galore, Handsome Hunter, Lavender Lace, Lovely Lilac, Mellow Moss, Only Orange, Orchid Opulence, Pale Plum, Pink Passion, Pixie Pink, Really Rust, Ruby Red, Sage Shadow, Summer Sun, Taken with Teal, Yoyo Yellow

From now until the end of June, you can stock up on all of the retiring inks, reinkers, papers, ribbons, and other accessories.  Remember once they are gone, they will no longer be available. Please don't wait until the last minute.  To place an order, contact me at sunnygirlscraps@gmail.com or click HERE to place an online order!

HERE IS A VISUAL OF THE RETIRING COLORS:

If you have any questions, I am more than happy to help you and encourage you to contact me.

Many Sunny Scrapin' & Stampin' Days,

Color Renovation Update - Blush Blossom.

Hey, I just discovered something that I wanted to share especially for everyone concerned about a "flesh" toned color being available.

The GOOD NEWS!

The Blush Blossom Stampin' Write is NOT retiring... This color will still be available in our markers which is great for those that use and need a flesh tone color!

Stampin' Happy,

Stampin' Up! Color Renovation

THE NEWS! IT'S A COLOR RENOVATION...

Yesterday, Stampin' Up! announced a Color Renovation. You may ask... What is a Color Renovation? Well, in this case, it means a complete renovation of the color families with the release of the 2010-2011 Stampin' Up! Idea Book and Catalog on July 1, 2010. I cannot adequately express how EXCITED and energized I am by these luscious, fresh, fashion forward and hip colors along with the return of some all-time favorites from previous In Colors which will be added to the "regular" line of core colors. In addition, you'll also see an organizational overhaul of the "color families" into "color collections!" Here is an outline of what to expect...

WHAT'S NEW?

Stampin' Up! will be reorganizing the "color families" into 40 Stampin' Up! Core Colors! There will be four color collections with 10 colors in each and the term "color families" will no longer be used. As part of these color collections, you'll see the return of 10 In Colors. There will also be 5 new colors.

The 10 returning In Colors (current and old) that will be included in the regular line of Core Colors include:
Baja Breeze, Melon Mambo, Pacific Point, Pink Pirouette, Rich Razzleberry,
Riding Hood Red, River Rock, Soft Suede, Tangierine Tango, and Wild Wasabi

The five new Core Colors are:
Daffodil Delight, Early Espresso, Cajun Craze, Cherry Cobbler, and Marina Mist

The four color collections along with the reassigned colors are:

Brights Collection

Regal Rose, Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry, Pacific Point, Tempting Turquoise,
Old Olive, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Tangerine Tango, Real Red

Neutrals Collection
River Rock, Chocolate Chip, Soft Suede, Early Espresso, Crumb Cake (formerly Kraft),
Sahara Sand, Very Vanilla, Whisper White, Basic Gray, Basic Black

Regals Collection

Elegant Eggplant, Night of Navy, Not Quite Navy, Always Artichoke, Garden Green,
More Mustard, Cajun Craze, Riding Hood Red, Cherry Cobbler, Bravo Burgundy

Subtles Collection

Pink Pirouette, Pretty in Pink, Rose Red, Perfect Plum, Marina Mist,
Bashful Blue, Baja Breeze, Wild Wasabi, Certainly Celery, So Saffron

EYE CANDY :)

Now for some EYE CANDY... A visual of the new Color Collections:

NEW IN COLOR FOR 2010-2011:

There will be 5 new In Colors introduced with the 2010-2011 Idea Book and Catalog which will be available on July 1. Now for the exciting news...

In Colors will be available for TWO (2) YEARS!!! Yes, you heard me... This is awesome news which I'm really excited about. In the 2010-2011 Idea Book & Catalog, as I mentioned, there will be 5 new In Colors. Then, with the 2011-2012 Idea Book & Catalog an additional 5 new In Colors will be introduced. This will bring the total of available In Colors to 10 with five rotating out and five rotating in every year. Confusing? Naw, it really is simple and makes a lot of sense...

The 5 new 2010-2011 In Colors coming in July are called:
Blushing Bride
Concord Crush
Peach Parfait
Pear Pizzaz
Poppy Parade

I admit, before I became a demonstrator, I couldn't justify purchasing the In Colors because they were only good for "1 year" and that seemed like a waste of money to me. But know that the In Colors are going to be sticking around for at least 2 years, I'm really stoked and excited to see the new In Colors!

KITS, HOT STUFF AND MORE:

Over the next couple of months, watch for information regarding new color kits including the Stampin' Up! markers for all the Core Colors which will include the former In Colors and the new colors along with the expansion of colors for Stampin' Pastels and Watercolor Wonder Crayons. There will also be an awesome NEW Color Coach tool that will make selecting colors for a project even easier.
Have a Sunny Stampin' & Scrappin' Day!
Pam Staples

A Color Renovation!

Yes!  There is a Color Renovation coming to Stampin' Up!  This is a very exciting time as we step into spring and look forward to the new Idea Book & Catalog which will be available on July 1, 2010 and along with the new catalog there will be some HUGE changes.

I'm very excited about the changes and truly believe it will help simplify the Stampin' Up! color palette while creating new color opportunities.

Stand by for further information over the next few days!

Stamping Happy,

Pam Staples
