Flower Folds Pin

FLOWER FUN!

I LOVE my Big Shot and now I have a fun, cute project!  Using the Bigz Flower Folds Die and select fabrics, I can make these beautiful flower pins!  These Pins are really easy to make and there are several versions on how to make them found on the internet.

At this time, I'm still exploring which version I prefer.  The one thing I'm certain of is that I like my flowers to be thicker and fuller to really showcase how beautiful these flowers are along with having more of a Shabby Chic look!

Please be on the lookout for the class I'll be offering in the near future making these flowers!

KISS (Keep It Simple Sweetie)

There are numerous Stampin' Up! demonstrator blogs that I enjoy following especially for ideas but I really have to mention two of those blogs today.  The first blog is Stampin' Pretty by Stampin' Up! Demo Mary Fish and the second blog is her teams challenge blog called Pals Paper Arts.  Earlier this week, Pals Paper Arts announced a new challenge called "KISS" which stands for "Keep It Simple Sweetie."

One of my greatest challenges is creating simple, great looking cards and this challenge really caught my eye and I decided it was time for me to participate in a Pals Paper Arts challenge.  I hope you find inspiration and know that simple cards are a wonderful way to create beautiful, handmade cards that are quick, easy and just as beautiful as the most complicated cards.

For your viewing pleasure, here are two cards that I created for PPA30 - KISS (Keep It Simple Sweetie) challenge:

WHEN:  Saturday, March 27, 2010
TIME:  10:00 AM to 1:00 PM
WHERE:  My Home
RSVP required!  Email me at sunnygirlscraps@gmail.com on or before March 23, 2010!

This is a very special Stamp-A-Stack in honor of our military men and women. We will be assembling handmade cards that are sent overseas as part of "Operation Write Home" to our military Men and Women to then use these handmade cards by sending them to their families.

We will focus on making two or three different cards. I'm hoping that we have a large group and if every person can make at least 5 to 10 cards of each style that we could have up to and over 100 cards to send! We will make at least one Mother's Day Card, a Graduation Card, and a General Card. If you would like more information about Operation Write Home, click HERE!

There is NO fee for this stamp-a-stack, however, I am willing to accept monetary donations to help defer the cost of materials and shipping.

As this event is scheduled to go over lunch, I will have food available and all attendees are also welcome to bring something to share with the group.

ALLERGY ALERT: I have 2 Dogs and a Cat.

The Valentine Box and Booklet MADE by my husband!

So Cool!  My Husband MADE me a Valentine!

I just had to share with all of you what my husband made at the "Manly Valentine" class that he attended at my upline, Jen Krieger's, class.  It was so wonderful that she offered this class.

If you know my husband, he really does NOT like "crafty" projects and will proclaim to just about anyone that he doesn't have a crafty bone in his body.  Well, I personally think he did a great job!  If you think so, I encourage you to leave a comment on my blog telling him he did a great job.

The fact that he made the effort and went outside his comfort zone to create these two valentines, is absolutely endearing and makes my heart just flutter.  The projects use mostly Stampin' Up! products but I'm not certain where he got the cupcakes frome that are on the box.  I'm pretty certain the "ticket" on the front of the booklet was printed on cardstock, cut out then the ticket punch was used to make it look like a ticket.

So...  Here are the two valentine projects that he made:

BOX:  Real Red 12x12 Cardstock
COVER:  Sending Love Designer Series Paper

BOOKLET:  Real Red Cardstock
ACCENT:  Sending Love Designer Series Paper
RIBBON:  Real Red Satin Ribbon
BORDER:  Pinking Hearts Border
BINDING:  Embossed with Stampin' Up! Backgrounds 1
INSIDE:  Glassine Rectangle Envelopes

Inside each Glassine envelope, my husband pasted various love poems from various authors then included scripture from the bible.  The booklet is his favorite and definitely from the heart based on the research he did to find some classical love poetry.  I do have to say that I did enjoy opening the cupcake box and finding some beautiful non-edible gifts.

Happy Valentines Day!

I would love to wish all my friends and family a HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!  Enjoy this day with those you love, keep them close to your heart and tell them how much you care not only today but all year round!

Happy Valentines Day!

Medallion Background Valentine Card

A Medallion Valentine!

Oh, how I'm having fun making Valentine Cards!  I've enjoyed creating using Real Red Cardstock, Basic Black Cardstock and Whisper White Cardstock for elegant, beautiful cards.  The following card uses the Medallion Background stamp which you can purchase through my Stampin' Up! Store by clicking HERE!

The Medallion Background stamp is very versatile and works great on so many different levels.  This past Tuesday, I had an embossing class and we used the Medallion Background Stamp.  Using Versamark, we inked up the stamp then stamped the image on a piece of Whisper White Cardstock.  We then sprinkled BLACK embossing powder over the image and using a Heat Gun, melted the embossing powder to create this beautifully embossed image.

In addition, we had to use the Scallop Trim Punch from the new Sale-A-Bration brochure.  Then I had to use the Real Red Sending Love Epoxy Brads from the 2010 Occasions Mini Catalog.

The following Stampin' Up! products were used as the recipe for the Medallion Valentine:

Cardstock:  Real Red, Whisper White and Basic Black
Embellishments:  Real Red Grosgrain Ribbon, Organza Ribbon, Real Red Sending Love Epoxy Brad
Punches:  Scallop Trim Border (Sale-A-Bration 2010)

I hope you enjoy!

Scrapbook Retreat Weekend

BEACH BUM!

Yes, I'm being a beach bum this weekend on Topsail Island!  Yesterday was very blustery, windy day with the ocean waves crashing against the beach.  It was beautiful!  We also lost power twice yesterday.  Today the sun has already peaked through the clouds.  People and their puppies are frolicking on the beach along with getting in their exercise as they walk or run along the beach.

As for me... Well, I haven't been down to the beach yet but plan to go for a walk soon.  In the meantime, I've been VERY creative.  This past week I received my latest Stampin' Up! order which included the Mini Milk Carton Die and Petal Card Die for the Big Shot.  Just let me say, I LOVE both!  Yesterday I was creating some really cute mini-Valentines with the Petal Card along with boxes to hold several of the cards.  Keep an eye out for some upcoming posts.  Of the two dies, the Petal Card Die is definitely quick and easy to use.

Fun Frames

Sweet 16

I recently hosted a "Sweet 16" birthday party for a clients daughter.  We had a great time decorating frames using Stampin' Up! products.  The girls definitely preferred Red's, Black and White for their color choices.  I pulled out the last of my Night & Day Specialty Designer Series Paper from the Holiday Mini Catalog.  This product is still considered "current" however it is not available for purchase at this time.  My hope is that it will make it into the 2010/2011 Stampin' Up! Catalog.  A girl can only hope!

All in all, we had a great time and the girls had so much fun that they are going to talk to their parents and see about doing a monthly or bi-monthly event.  As an added surprise, we also made necklace using 1 1/4 inch Fender Washers.

Here are the frames...

On this last photo, I mistakenly put the photo in upside down then photographed it.  The flower should be at the top and the words on the bottom.
